Draw the base for your hair drawing Create a new layer and draw hair with around the head. It should not be deatailed because we focus on composition now. Give it some dynamics by drawing with relaxed hand and giving every stroke a logical direction.

Before we get into the good stuff first thing is first. You’re going to want to define the hairline of your comic book character. You can think of the hairline as a barrier that outlines the area of turf your hair grows out from (the scalp). The hairline serves as a guide that’ll define what I like to refer to as the ‘Hair Zone’.. The hairline is drawn in halfway between the brow line.

If you ever want to draw silky black hair (like silvermist) you should start of with shading some of the hair with blue, leaving rest white. Then put a little grey then black. Shade the black with grey to make darker and you get this:) Drawing I've been waiting for this to show up! pins.

There are many different types of hair, but this lesson will focus on how to draw short, dark hair. The lesson is rather long so I decided to break it up into 3 parts. Each will cover a different aspect of drawing this reference photo. You can print it out and drawing along. That’s the best way to learn.

AND the really cool part is that now you can take this method and use it to draw up every other hair style you think of. So go ahead and give it a try! There is a lot of valuable content in this tutorial but at the end of the day it all comes down to these 3 steps.

Drawing hair is no different. Not only is the Ribbon Technique an easier solution, but it‘ll also ultimately produce better results. As you divide the Ribbons, use Line Weights to give the contour lines a polished finish. Boring Line’s that don’t vary in width tend to take the life out of your art work.

How to Draw Curly Hair: Drawing Spiral Curls Tutorial Drawing curly hair can be fun and if you check this tutorial you will understand all the basics you need in order to do that. What is cool is that what you learn can be also used in other hair drawings because more or less the principles behind are very similar.
